To Vaccinate Or Not To

regarding these govt websites, keep in mind that they have a vested interest in denying any link between autism and vaccinations because of the fact they have approved them and required their use. There is STRONG evidence of a link and the govt is sticking its head in the sand. Check out this article; http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0616-31.htm

can't you read? there are many posts here not only stating pretty much the same things you wrote, but some that even answer your question.. they aren't that far back either.. or maybe if you had bothered to read those government sites, you would have noticed that, no, they don't use mercury anymore, so the arguement it causes autism is irrelevant.

another question - September 12

can you get vaccines with out formaldehyde or aluminum phosphate in them?

People travel, even if you don't, disease is a real concern. It's too late once something happens. Vaccines are very often a killed virus and you can't catch the disease. How many cases do you know of personally (you can't go by peoples claims on the net)concerning the live virus causing disease? None, I'd bet. There is nothing suggesting or proving a connection to autism. It's a theory. How many do you know with it anyhow, in relation to being vaccinated? It's your choice though.

The argument that it could cause autism is only irrelevant if your child is unaffected. I am sure it's very relevant to parents of autistic children who believe the vaccine is to blame. They may also see the sudden removal of mercury from vaccines as an admission, rather than an attempt appease the concerns of the “paranoid”. If it was perfectly safe why spend millions of dollars to remove it, when you could use the supply currently available THEN not make anymore with it?

It is irrelevant to the topic we are discussing.. whether to vaccinate your child NOW, not five or ten years ago. Whether or not thimerosal did or didn't cause autism should not be a deciding factor for parents as it is no longer in vaccines given to infants.

I have said why... several times. Here it is again. My reason for not having my child vaccinated is that, as the parent, I do not believe it to be in the best interest of my child.

Right. We each must decide what we feel is best for our own children. I have complete peace of mind that mine are protected from disease and you have complete peace over yours being protected from shots.

To Lucy - I am so very sorry for your tragic losses. I read your story with tears streaming down my face. How horrible it must be to not only lose one, but two precious babies. The pictures of Sebastian and Sabine are heartbreaking. To actually see the beautiful faces of the your little angels, breaks my heart. I cannot express how sad I am for you and your family. My heart goes out to you. Thank you for sharing your story. You may have helped alot of people today, and altered their mind about immunizations. Nobody should have to go through what you did. I know your little angels are together watching down on you and your family, keeping everyone safe.

I apologize Lucy, I meant Sabanna, not Sabine. I didn't mean to disrespect her memory.

Lucy~ I can't imagine and don't want to imagine what your life must be like on a day to day basis. I do have one question, I read your whole story and the newspaper article, but my question is, are you for or against vaccinations? My baby girl is vaccinated and I feel this is the best choice for my family. Thank you for sharing your story and your babies are beautiful! You just have to think, you now have 2 angels watching over you. I wish you all the best for you and your family.

I am a laboratory technician. I come into contact with many people that have all kinds of nasties... Whooping Cough, TB, AIDS, Hepat_tis A,B, and C, Coronavirus (i.e. SARS) Influenza A and B, the common cold, MRSA, etc... although, I wear protective equipment, and wash my hand a million times a day, I still come home and hug my 19 month old daughter with those same hands, and cook her food with those same hands, and hug my husband with those same hands. I would rather vaccinate her because it protects her by making her immune system stronger against what I can't protect her against. Vaccines are nothing more than a dead virus (yes, they use animals in this process. would you rather they used humans?) or bacteria which contains an antigen. An antigen is a protein molecule that is unique on the cell wall. Your body recognizes this antigen as something that doesn't belong, and it creates antibodies. These antibodies are always in circulation in the bloodstream in small amounts, so that when the real deal comes along, they attack, and give the T-lymphocytes a chance to produce more. This usually lessens the severity of the disease, or makes the child immune. There are rare side-effects of vaccinations, though. These include, pain at the vaccination site, rash, nausea, anaphalactic shock, fever, nausea, etc, etc, right up to coma. But the incidence of this is only about 1 in 10000, depending on the vaccine. Please, vaccinate your children. Most daycare's won't let them in without a current shot record, and most schools, either. But, consider if you don't get your child the Prevnar shot, and they get Pneumococcal Meningitis... are you willing to spend the rest of your life wondering what would have happened if you had only gotten the shot???

Immuni-yuksion - September 24

vaccination ... what a frightening concept ! yikes . I read as much info as possible about the pros and cons as to eliminate any prejudice one side or the other may present . What a horrible thing to do to children ! I can only say that if you have a population of say 2000 people and 1000 have a virus that simply means that immunization could be useful as a headstart for the body to recognize the bad cells . Immunization does not prevent anyone from getting viruses ever . Some would argue that in order for the human body to overcome every living bad organism it must come in contact with them . But given that everyones genetics are different this would be impossible . Immunization products come both killed and in live forms both must be properly handled in packaging , temp , and administration. One could literally recieve thousands of different shots each year . This would make any individual a walking killer . I have read so much about it including court cases and that autism is a product of immunization. I can only say cleanliness is the best option and it facinates me how much the medical proffession can be so in to garbage . The intentions of them are good but the truth is way off base . In my opinion I think immunization should be treated the same way as antibiotics first question being ... can the individual handle it and the second is to know the reaction (allergy) to it .
