Breastfeeding the baby can help in many ways, but whoever claimed they won't get sick must are most likely are confusing "philosophy" vs "science". Yes, b___stfeeding is great for the baby, but it's certainly not the universal medicine. Some of mom's antibodies start gradually to wear out at about 2 months and the babies at that point will transition and have the ability to make their own (a__suming they are healthy). Breastmilk can help that process and even still provide some immunity, but it is a process and it takes time... a year or more. We still don't have a complete understanding of how b___stmilk works, but we're getting closer.

"Also, the antibodies last longer in babies whose mother naturally acquired it rather than those who have been vaccinated against it. " Reference please?!

huh ? I'm not sure I understand ? Yes it is true that sometimes the b___st milk is not compatible with all children but it is favored because your immunity is directly fed to the child. I think BBK was just stating that colostrum is very valuable and your diet combined with allergy could be a possibility because it is directly related . Of course he is picking on me with lysol purell gatorade and whatever else . The virus or cold will fade and I'm not going to make any claims to ant_toxins or what electrolytes (amino acids) you could give so I'll just safely say that maybe you should run BBK Lysol into the air (Eucalyptus) or something safe to help ease the childs problem . I just didn't understand why he brought up the relationship between colostrum and vaccination . It can take time for the body to figure things after vaccination leaving a person/child more vulnerable too other viruses . During a cold b___st feeding may not be helpful in getting rid of it because it is heavy in fat just like any dairy product or maybe even worse but to the contrary it can be very helpful too, it really all depends and maybe worth a try . I don't know how to make a 2 month old sweat it out or even if it is good idea ? I'm also wondering why your ped. is going that route . The next thing people are going to start asking you is things like > is the smoke of roofing tar b__wing in babies window or is there a smoker in the house , or what are you eating , do you use a dirty dish rag to wipe babies face etc etc . I'm confident that BBK can give you ideas he is just being cautious there is also another person here named STARR she posts as " just ask me" she may be able to give some input .

"close enough" Electrolytes are not amino acids?! Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and peptides. Electolytes are sals and specifically ions: sodium (Na+), pota__sium (K+), chloride (Cl-),
calcium (Ca2+), magnesium (Mg2+),
bicarbonate (HCO3-), phosphate (PO42-) sulfate (SO42-) are commonly used by the body. They help cells maintain voltage across the cell membranes and carry electrical implulses to themselves and other cells. Amino acids are either peptides or proteins and their function is far too complex to explain here. Knowing this, read my posts again, and you'll see I'm not picking on you. Lysol and purell would be to prevent contamination, not ease cold symptoms.....geez!

~ "google it"? So you don't have a reference! In any case I "googled it", and no cigar as far as the pa__sive immunity goes. I'm not saying it's true or not true, but I just wanted to know if someone actually studied this

BBK I thought you might be wrong again this time you were really wrong and Monica actually believes you , interesting -thats funny and duh to lysol if you read what I wrote . You are playing monica with words technicality vs salts and sugars ... oh well go for it if you want to make me look dumb .

Sorry I didn't have time earlier but here are few sites I found from my Google search. I suppose the secret is knowing how to most effectively use the search engine.
