Anyone Else 40 Weeks And Counting

Well my story is that I am currently 40+1 weeks pregnant with my third child. Boy is it hard to see that anticpated due date come and go with out a baby! I actually thought I was in labor yesterday, had real uncomfortable contractions all day, all evening called my doc around 11pm last night. She advised to try to sleep and see if they got stronger or went away. Although this is my third child, I have not gone into labor by myself, I was induced with my other kids so I am as much in dark as most first timers. I already had a doctor's appointment today, but she asked me to come in between 8:30 and 9, if I was dilated enough she would send me directly to the hospital. Well wouldn't ya know, last week I was only "barely a cm" dilated and today I am 2-3cm. One more lousy cm and I could be holding my baby boy! She did set a day to induce, if he has not arrived by Monday the 6th, then I am already on the books. How are you other ladies coping with the anticpation?

I am 40+4 and still waiting. Driving me crazy. This is my first baby and it's a boy. Must be something about males. I am 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced and have had my membranes stripped 2 times (once today) and still nothing. My doctor told me that if nothing happens by next week then he's inducing. Kinda scared about that. I also will find out on Monday the 6th. Hopefully it will naturally happen for both of us soon. Good luck.

try not to worry, being induced for me is a relief because I know an end is in sight! I am a wimp so I plan on every type of pain releif they will give me! :) I am also having my tubes tied after this one, and kind of worried because they are going to leave my epidural line in , but turn off the meds until that surgery. Good luck with your little man! Hopefully you will go into labor soon.

My due date was yesterday May 31st. Expecting my first baby - Blake. The doctor stripped my membranes yesterday but said he doesn't think it will be successful because he could hardly reach my cervix - my baby is not dropping into my pelvis. I did loose my mucous plug today, I really hope labor starts on its own. Doctor thinks that the baby will not fit into my pelvis so he schduled a "trial of labor" for June 3. He said if I do not dialate 1cm per hour within 4-5hrs after the pitocin starts a regular pattern of contractions, he will do a section. This is far from the natural labor I have been preparing and hoping for, but I am still excited I will get to meet my little boy soon.

I wish you the best! If you are hoping for a v____ally delivery I will pray it goes that way, but if Blake will not fit, maybe it is better to have the section done. :) Look at the bright side....no labor and a baby with a beautiful shaped head!
