Hi, Congrats Jane. Sarah hang in there what do you got 5 days I am very excited for us. Yesterday was a scare i went to the hospital thinking my water broke but found out I am have bladder issues. then while I was there the nurse was taking my blood pressure and noticed my blood pressure was really high. they kept me there 4 hours to see if my blood pressure was going to go down which it did slightly and they ran blood tests to see if i had toximia. Some of the tests came back really weird so they called me doctor and put me on bed rest for today and i will see him at 3:15 to see if they are going to induce me. the nurse is pretty sure I have it but the doc said to come in tommorrow cause I am still not dilating and if they induce it will be very painful. I guess it could be poretty dangerous for both me and the baby. I will keep you posted. wish me luck

I guess I am just on a big list of 'ladies in waiting'. Have been 2cm dilated for at least a week and cervix is very soft. Sounds like lots of xmas babies!

Hi Charity, how weird i ended up at the hospital today aswell, I came down with the flu on sunday, so i'm just feeling really c___p at the minute and I hadn't felt him move all day so we went to the hospital and they monitored the babys heartbeat and he just made me look like a liar - he never stopped moving the whole time i was on the monitor. but i don't mind looking like a liar as long as he is ok!! my blood pressure is up slightly and i have a urine infection all this days before my due date. Anyway they put me on antibiotics and told me to rest - my midwife is gonna come and check my blood pressure for the next few days. Let me know how you get on at the hospital - i hope everything goes ok for you!

Hi Zoe, when is your due date? how has your pregnancy been?

I've been watching this thread for about month now- waiting impatiently like everyone else... I am 38 weeks and ready to pop! I'm really swollen (elephant ankles) and tired (up all night long going to the bathroom, getting something to drink, and general insomnia) and my back hurts (heating pads are my new best friend), I've been 2 cm dialated since 36 weeks- so hopefully I'll have some progress soon. Been a great pregnancy- expecting a little boy, Ryan Mitchel.

I am 38 and 3 days and feel so terrible. I am tired my stomach hurts my back hurts and my ankles are so swollen. Everytime I eat anything even if just a snack my stomach feels like i ate a 5 course meal. I guess not much room for food. I still haven't noticed any dropping yet. I am hoping that is not a sign of going late. I couldn't handle it. I am also not so happy with my doc so that does not make things better. I moved at the beginning of my pregnancy and had two early ultrasounds for each doc. The 1st said I was due on the 5th of Jan. I didn't forward my paperwork because I had new ins. and my new doc said she would just do everything over. Well she came up with Jan 11 as my due date. I then had 20 week US and it said the 4th (closer to 1st) but they would not change date because not more than 2 weeks diff. I am going by the 2 that are a day apart. So I havent had an appt since the 8th and wont go until 29th becuase she is on vacation. THis is my 1st and I am nervous. She hasn;t even done an internal on me so I have no clue if I am dialated or not. I do not think I will be returning to her for future children. As you can tell I am not plesant :( I am hoping to not even make it to my appt.

Sarah i hpoe you have him soon. Well you know I went to the hospital on sunday. Monday I went to the doctor and found out I had preclampsia so he sent me to be induced. i got there at 7:30 on monday and had him at 11:11 Pm tuesday night. He was sideways in there so after a couple of ours of pushing they did a cesarean. He was 7pounds 8onces and was 20 inches long. is apgar score was a 8 and 9 so I am very proud parent. Amy and Ashley i think its like a thing all us moms go through when we get to 37/38 weeks we just want them out. I wish you two luck. He is my first and with all the pain that i went through It was the best feeling in the world to hear him cry for the very first time.

Hi everyone! sorry ive taken so long to write back!! you know what its like when you've got a newborn baby - not much time for anything else!! Congratulations to all the new mums!! Lewis Joshua was born on 22nd December at 6.55pm weighing 7lb 13oz and he is absolutely perfect. I was in labour for 18 and a half hours, i had an epidural and i have to say i couldnt of got through it without one!! i was climbing the walls with my contractions, but although its painful at the time the saying that you forget after is very true, its not that you forget what you've been through you just cant remember how severe the pain was you just know it was bad!! I just want to warn everyone who is going to become a mum for the first time - I had a small tear but it didnt need st_tches and i also had some grazing and it stings like hell when you go to the toilet i was in tears every time for the first 4 days then the pain eases a little, and i didnt have a bowel movement for 4 days either which is uncomfortable and hurt a little when i did eventually go so be warned cos nobody told me about that - as far as i was aware once the baby was out everything just went back to normal. I have looked back at what i wrote during my pregnancy and i was a right moaning cow but i have to say it was all worth it and although im not ready to go through it all agin right now im sure i will one day!! The love i feel towards my baby doesnt come close to anything else in the world - he is the most precious thing in my life!! Good luck to everyone who is pregnant at the moment!! I will keep looking back whenever I get a minute to see how things are going.

For anyone who is still checking in- I'm still pregnant. 2 days until the due date. Still at 2.5cm. My Dr set up and induction for Jan 11- hopefully I won't make it that far but I fear I will.

Amanda - January 15

Hi everyone! I'm 39 weeks on 1/17 and am scheduled for an induction that day. My due date is 1/24 so he'll be exactly a week early. I have been dilated to 5cm for about 3weeks now, no change and 75% effaced. I have had a very easy pregnancy, no complications, no morning sickness, and I'm not uncomfortable or losing any sleep! I would say I have been very lucky. I have only been feeling BH contractions but none are consistant. I just can't wait until Tuesday so I can finally meet this beautiful person inside me! This is my husband's and mine first child and is a boy. We have chosen to name him Cameron David...That has been my favorite name for years! I hope everyone else's pregnancies end in good health and happy babies!!
