Hi. I am 35 weeks pregnant and started having contractions last week. I was put on bed rest and I am now 2 cm dialated and 80% effaced. I have still had contractions for the past week, but they told me not to come back until I can't talk through them or my water breaks. Anyone had a similar experience or any advice?

well i ws dilalated to a 2 for 1 month then I hit 3cm at 38 weeks and then 3 days later my water broke. When i found out I was 3cm I walked and walked and walked! Oh and had intercorse once.

I am wondering the same thing. I am 37 wks now, I have an incompetent cervix and had to have a cerclage put in around 3 months and they just took that out thurs. The doc said I was 3 cm and 50% efaced, so I am waiting and wondering how long will it take?

jen, it could be any day or it could be a while....at 34 weeks, I was 3cm and 50% effaced....here I am at 37 weeks still pregnant and 3cm, 70% effaced.

This is my 3rd pregnancy. Each one has been completely different. I am 38 weeks and on Thursday my Dr. stripped my membranes, Friday I lost the mucus plug (which is something I have not experienced before) I am dilated to a 3 and 75% effaced. I had some contractions on Saturday but now they have stopped. I called my Dr and he is completely surprised that I have not gone into labor yet. I just want this child out of me. I want my body back and to start life with the new little one. I have come to believe that EVERY PREGNANCY IS DIFFERENT and UNIQUE. And there is nothing we as moms can do to hurry things along. I wish we had that control.

I was dialated 4 and 80 percent effaced for 2 weeks

who know i'm i was 3 cm and 50% effaced at 30 weeks then at 34 weeks i change to 4 and 80% effaced now i'm 38.4 weeks and a few days ago i change to 5 100% effaced i dont know when this baby is go to come out,.....

my wife is 1 day over her due date, mid wfe measured her at 40cm yesterday and was 2-3cm dilated how long does this last before she has contractions?
