Ok, I got some silly questions, but I just want opinons. I was induced with my first child but I wasn't dilated at all and labor, water was broken when I was dilated to a 1, from beginning to end was 9 hours of back to back contractions with out breaks and terrible back pain. This time as of now I am dilated to a 3, do you think it will go any quicker or smoother? My doctor seems to thinks so..But I don't want to get my hopes up...

I think it will. Usually the first 3 to 4 cm take the longest, which is why they won't give an epidural before then because it can slow labor down. I was 100% and 3 cm when I was induced....they starte pitocin around 7am, broke my water around 9 am, I got the epidural around 10 am and was pushing by a little after 11 am....my son was born at 1:23 pm...so 6 hours from when they started the pitocin, and 4 hours from when they broke my water...plus they say second labors usually go faster...good luck!!

Hi Kades momma, looks like we will have the same birthdays to celebrate !!! i get induced on monday too, they checked me yesterday and i am 4 cm dilated, they are just going to break my water. I also got induced with my 1st son and all in all was in labour about 5 hours. Last night started getting the bad backache that i 'forgot' about and remembered how bad it felt !!! i am hoping too that it goes quicker, at least we only have 6 -7 cm to go !!!! good luck on monday.
