How many of you guys go to the extent of writing out your birth plan? I did with both of mine and I wanted it posted where all the doctors and nurses could see (yeah I got some wierd looks LoL!) The reason being, I wanted to make sure that my wishes were made clear, especially if something were to happen and I couldn't answer at the time. Some of the things that were very important to me were:
1.) No episiotomy, I am in no rush to deliver at the cost of being cut (which many doctors will do even if it isn't really needed) I asked my doctors to do perineal massage during delivery and to let the baby descend slowly so that I can stretch. I never needed st_tches.
2.) C-Section is a LAST resort and should only be done if me or the baby were in danger. Believe it or not, some doctors will do it for lesser reasons.
3.) I wanted to nurse before the baby was rushed off to be poked and prodded (unless there was a medical reason why I couldn't)
4.) I wanted an Epidural upon my request, even if I wasn't a certain number of centimeters dialated.
What is important to you during and after your delivery that would go in your birthplan?

I haven't worked mine out completely yet, but I have been researching my options some. I have a meeting with my doula on the 19th, so I am sure she will be able to help me out. For anyone else who is working on this, you can always try typing "interactive birth plan" into a search engine. There are a few good websites that you can go through and just click on what you want to include and then print out your list of preferences. They don't cover everything, but it's a good starting point! Some of my important points are: limiting unnecessary exams, etc. performed by students (teaching hospital), not circ_mcising baby, being able to b___stfeed as soon as possible, not being offered pain medications unless I request them... That's about as far as I have gotten at this point :)

I found a great site that helps you build a birth plan: earthmamaangelbaby.com/birth_plan.html
Just cut and paste it to Word when you're done and make any additions or changes that you need to
