Hey, I'm 38 1/2 weeks...went to the dr today I'm 3 1/2 cm dilated, 75% effaced, she stretched me today and also stripped my membranes. That was at around 2:30. I was having some contractions since I left the dr but around 5:30 I started noticing they were closer and a little more painful and started roughly timing them (just looking at the clock not on paper or anything) and they were probably around 5-8 minutes apart. Now it's around 9:25 and they're ranging from 3-6 minutes apart. All of them are painful but not the same. Would this be considered consistent and I should call the dr or what? I didn't know if all contractions had to be 5 minutes apart exactly for an hour or what?

They do not have to be 5 minutes apart all the time. Some people never become regular in contractions. If they are becoming stronger I would call your doctor usually that is the thing that matters the most. It is better for you to call the doctor and know then it is to wait and worry. Sometimes after you get your membranes are swept you can be crampy all day long. i had them done twice and I was uncomfortable all day long each time. I never went into labor though. Hopefully this is it for you GOOD LUCK!
