I am 38 weeks pregnant and I have been experiencing menstrual like cramps off and on for about 4 days now. Is this a sign that labor can be on its way? If so how long can I be cramping for?

I've been having menstrual like cramps for a couple weeks now, on and off. They are getting worse, but still no labor. I'm 39 1/2 weeks.

what you guys are haveing are contractions which is probley causing you to dilate as far along as you both are you probley are showing signs of the first stage of labor

That would be nice. I've been having contractions along with the cramps all week long. They come all day long but never get closer than five minutes apart before they stop for awhile. I was dilated to 3 last Friday.
