Frequent Tightening Contractions

I have been having very frequent tightenings or contractions, most of which come and go without pain, but few that are accompanied with hard cramps or backache. I'm 40 weeks, wondering if they are a sign of labor to come?

usually Braxton Hicks start getting more intense and more frequent as you get closer to labour. Your body is "practicing" It's actually really hard to tell when you move from BH into early labour. (The only way to tell is if your cervix starts dilating-from 1 to 4 is concidered early labour). Good luck nita, can't be that long away!!
