Does anyone know or has tried the herb, Blue Cohosh to induce labor? Also, is it okay to use if you have low blood pressure? Pls let me know about your experience with this herb in relationship to your labor & delivery?

Tara, you can use cohosh but you might want to talk to your doctor, midwife, or regular health care professional. Black and blue cohosh are natural abortives and cause the body to start contractions in order to birth the baby. You should only take cohosh if you are absolutely sure that you want to go into labor or you are over your due date. You can get it at a natural foods store but I recommend getting cohosh in a combination that has raspberry tea herbs in the capsule because the tea herbs will help you strenghten your uterus and pelvic muscles and also help you produce milk in a more efficient manner

Is the Blue Cohosh safe to take? I'm due in 2 days. Doctor says i'm definately ready to have the baby. Can you get it at like wal-mart? can someone just kinda explain about it.

I have been taking red raspberry leaf tea and also a red raspberry tea leaf combination herbal supplement. The tea I find is helping me sleep better at nights because it is allowing my body to relax as well as I am finding it is stopping my legs from cramping and twitching which is affecting my sleep. The red raspberry supplement I have only been taking for a day and it includes both black and clue cohosh and I am finding that I am having regular contractions every 15 to 20 minutes. I am also finding that the contractions are easier to handle. If you or anyone else have any questions you can email me at: antlers@telus.net I used to work in a natural health foods store so i think i know a lot about herbs and herbal supplements. Oh and by the way I also have low blood pressure and the tea and the supplement seem to be doing something to my blood pressure in a good way cause at my doctors appointment yesterday he said that he liked the look of my vitals and my blood pressure
