I'm almost 38 weeks and on my third pregnancy. I am so tired of this pregnancy and I feel like I might go over-due. What are some other ways(that work)of home induced labor I could try to get this pregnancy going?

well I did the nipple stimulation and it gave me contractions, but when I stopped they tapered off. I would have kept on but my nipples started hurting. I did it for 15 mins on each one twice per nipple. I think it would have worked if I kept on.

According to the pregnancy books I have read, nipple stimulation really only works if you do it for an hour at a time, three times a day. That being said, they also say to talk to your doctor before trying it, as it can cause extremely strong contractions that may affect your baby's heartrate. Therefore, most pract_tioners will tell you not to do it unless you are at the birthing center or hospital being monitored. That's the only method definitively linked to self-induction of labor... the rest are kind of hit and miss and not proven to do anything for sure.

Whatever you do don't try castor oil!!!! I went to the hospital tonight and got informed on how that stuff works explained to me. Yes you have contractions but the only reason you are having them is because you have the runs! which dehydrate you making your muscules contract and since your uterus is a muscule it does so. but once you get to the hospital and they put the I.V. in you they stop because you are getting rehydrated from the fluids. well that is what i was told about that. But i have heard walking up and down stair (if you got them) works. So good luck with your labor and all that great stuff, I will be there soon!!
