Well yesterday I had a doctors appt. and I am 3.5 - 4 cm dilated, and im 100% effaced! Well yesterday I was having some very bad back pains and tightening in my tummy... I am still getting them! They come and go! Well I been having diahrea*SORRY TMI* and i was reading in a book that may be a sign of labor starting! I lost my appet_te towards alot of things also.. What does this mean? am I in active labor yet?

Sounds like you could be "cooking". I remember my early labor felt like really bad menstrual cramps. They changed to really low pains that really got your attention. If you have any questions, go to your hospital and asked to be checked. Being that far dilated and effaced, I bet you don't come home. I hope everything goes well for you! Good luck.

I started having bad menstrual like cramps about 11 pm on Thursday the 25th, then I noticed "bloody show" shortly after, went to the hospital at around 8:30 am Friday the 26th, was admitted and gave birth at 6:20 pm. It sounds like you may be getting ready. When you start getting a clear, but blood tinged discharge and/or your contractions are 3-5 minutes apart you are most likely in active labor. I left the house when mine were 4 minutes apart and they were 2 minutes apart by the time I got to the hospital.

sounds like the same thing ive been having all yesterday and today. i hope its early labor for both our sakes! good luck! : ]

oh, and the cooking thing just means your bodys muscles are streaching preparing for labor :)

Krista- I think i have been reading on your other posts that your over due right? Wow! I cant even imagine how anxious you are! Have you had any other "contractions" or what ever they are lately? Ive been having some sort of things... They start out in my belly and then go to my b

sounds like contractions to me Corrine! im just getting the tightening all over, no pain in my stomach except realllly crampy in my lower tummy. ill be 2 weeks overdue on friday, and ill probably have a date to get induced tomorrow : ]

My friend had what you are describing beginning on a Friday and had her baby on the following Wednesday. It might not be that long for you, though. It sounds like your baby is on his/her way! Best of luck to you!
