I'm 37 weeks and 1 day, I had a cerclage at 11 1/2 weeks due to incompetant cervix. I lost a baby at 22 1/2 weeks last November. I had the cerclage removed and immediately dialated to 2 1/2 and was having contractions every 3 min but they weren't strong enough and after several hours my cervix was not changing so they sent me home. Now Dr. says I'm 3 cm and 80% effaced and I lost my mucus plug on Monday. Everyone I talked to says it could be anytime. I'm having contractions, mostly later at night about 10-15 minutes apart, but then they stop.... I'm ready now!!!!

For me and others i've talked to, it's typically 2 days after losing mucus plug...but i'm sorry to say that it's different for everyone. It could be 24 h or it could be up to 2 weeks! I know you don't want to hear that, I sure didn't when I was at the end of my pregnancy but there is really no way of knowing. Hope you go soon! Good luck.

Losing your plug means nothing really, bloody show on the other hand is a decent sign of labor approaching. You can lose and replenish the plug multiple times. Sounds like you're getting there, but could still have weeks to go. Good luck.
