Might This Be It

I know this question has been asked over a million times, but reading other threads doesnt seem to help much =( I'm 39 weeks and 4 days currently, and i've had menstrual-like cramps for a good while, a month maybe more. The past couple days i've all of a sudden had excruciating pains in my stomach and back... the first day I woke up feeling almost like I had a broken back or something, but I could move and it wasnt quite THAT intense... It started feeling kind of like the pains from a kidney infection, but there didnt seem to be too much of a rhythm to it. Then yesterday it wasnt as bad, but seemed like it could possibly have more of a pattern to it. I had a doctor appointment yesterday, he said i was about 1 cm, which i believe i have been for a while, but he didnt tell me how effaced or anything like that. Then today it has been increadibly excruciating, I almost cant bear it, and its very distinct... lasting anywhere from 3 seconds or so to a minute , and i timed it a bit earlier today, it was 10 minutes, then 8 minutes, then 20, 20 again, then 40, then i didnt really pay attention, it had gotten a lot farther apart. The pain was so bad each time that it would make me nauceous, and even though it might sound weird, the pain had me moaning loudly just in attempt to handle it. When I stopped timing, it had slowed way down starting from when I just went to my bed and layed down. I do feel like I've somewhat had diarrhea, and the pains are sort of all over my stomach. This may be TMI, but I havent had any blood at all, i've had a LOT of discharge, its mostly semi-opaque whitish but not like an infection at all, mixed with a thick mucousy pretty much completely clear stuff... but no blood at all, and this has been going on for at least a month as well, prolly more, but there wasnt very much of the clear mucous stuff until a week or two ago...

So you are probably very close to actual labor but as you probably already know the contractions need to be close together and at regualr intervals. I'd say if they get to about 5 min apart and stay there it's probalby time to go to the hospital.

It sounds like maybe it's just braxton hicks? I've been having incredibly painful braxton hicks for a few days now. (I'm 41 weeks.) They aren't at all regular, but they hurt like hell. Today the pain is spreading into my back as well. But... if they aren't regular, it's not the real thing. I'd still tell your doctor though... Good luck.
