I'm scheduled Wednesday to induce labor. I went to the doctor yesterday and wasn't dilated any. He went through my cervix and swept my membranes. I lost my mucus plug soon after. How long after you lose the mucus plug do you usually go into labor?

Do you always lose your mucus plug before going into labor? My sister says she never remembers losing hers.

It doesnt mean labor at all just means the cervix is softening some woman loose theres early on & it just replaces it self. I lost mine early like 38 weeks & didn't deliver until 40weeks 3 days

Misspriss no you dont always loose it.. sometimes it will come out when your water breaks its just something you can look for so you dont get freaked out
