im 5 days overdue and have had 2 sweeps and a show. im 2cm dilated does this mean im in labor and my baby will make his appearance soon??

Hi helen, i've had 2 sweeps too and am also 2cm dilated, i'm not overdue quite yet im 39+2 but still no sign of my sprog turning up. Irregular contractions but nothing to get excited about. Sometimes they need a little encouragement to come out, do you know how far down his head is? Good luck, hope things progress for you real soon! :o)

mine is 3/5's so looks like we're pretty much at the same stage. Some people stay at 2cm for a wee while then suddenly bam they go for a check and they're 5 or 6cm so hang on in there!! If you want to try and move things along, try squatting, apparently it can help move the baby further down due to gravity and other factors. And the further down the baby's head is the more pressure it will put on your cervix hopefully causing you to thin and dilate more.

it truly all depends. i'm 40+6 today, almost 2 cm, baby is engaged, and i have also had 2 sweeps or stretchings. i've also had contractions on & off for a week. each day i get a few more and they become a little stronger. but.... no baby yet!
