I am 38 weeks and have been 4 centimeters for two weeks and was last told 60 % effaced. I have heard tea, castor oil, s_x, walking, nipple stimulation, pineapples...etc! Tried EVERYTHING! I take a warm bath everyday to help it along but still nothing. Can anyone give any other suggestions? How about br___t pumping, will this work since it does make your uterus contract? This is my fourth child ( first girl ) and never went past 35 weeks!!!

A warm bath will probably not help labor. It usually stops contractions and can slow progression.Just keep walking!

I am a firm believer in if you get your bowels stimulated, it will bring contractions on. I know it sounds yucky, but drink prune juice. I almost guarantee something will happen!!

I agree with Maria - the baby will come when it is ready. Even though I tried heaps of things when I went overdue, I don't think any of them really contributed.

Some naturopaths use evening primrose oil, either ingested or if the water hasn't broken yet rubbed directly into the v____a and on the cervix. Talk to a specialist and see what they say. This doesn't bring on labour, but it does soften the cervix more. Helping it dilate.

Having had your other babies early, aren't you thankful this one is still "cooking"? It's hard near the end, but for the best. I've had an early, but term, baby and he's having problems my others didn't have.
