my doctor, concerned that i had a 36 hours labor with my first child, suggested he sc__ped the membranes inside my cervix. this is done at 38 weeks which i will be on monday june 21, 2004. has anyone heard anything about this good or bad?

I just had it done and nothing has happend!!! my doctor told me to walk alot too but still nothing. I hope you have better luck then i did.

my due date was june 24th and on june 23rd my doctor did that to me and its now june 29th and still nothing...hope u have better luck.

Im now 6 days overdue, with my second son. I have been dilated to 2 centimeters for 3 days, have been losing my plug for over two weeks now and contracting for over two weeks now. My doctor finally sc___ped my membranes 2 days ago and still NOTHING!!!! Hopefully it helps you guys out. Good Luck!

my friend who just had a baby told me she had that done and NOT to do it that its WAY painful.

I had it done twice with first pregnancy - and the first time led to a "show" but my child was still two weeks late. Firmly believe, now, that baby only comes when it's ready - especially since last week when baby no.2 did not even show with an induction (two lots of gel) and we're still waiting. I wouldn't bother putting yourself through the discomfort! (Although my first pregnancy was quite quick....)
