We had our baby on January 4. She's so beautiful and the birth went so much better than I thought.
On Wed. my doc. stripped my membranes a second time, hoping to help dilate before the induction. I started having contractions on Thursday at around 2:30 a.m. We went to the hospital at 5:30, when we were scheduled and started pitocin at 6. At 7 a.m. my water broke, I got an epidural around 10 when I was 4 cm, and by 12ish I was 9 cm. dilated on one side. The nurses had me lay on my other side to help it dilate more, and 20 min. later I was fully dilated. The doctor came in just as I started to push, around 1 p.m. and she was born at 1:39 p.m.
Man it hurts when that head comes out! And the shoulders too! And I still remember it but when I look at her, it's so worth it. Her name is Riley Elaine, and she is 6lb. 5oz and 19 1/4 inches long.
