I'm 38 weeks pregnant. On wednesday, I was dilated 3 cm with 50% effacement. Now, for the past hour I've been getting intense back pain in my lower back every 5-10 minutes. I feel no pain in my stomach at all, although I think it is tightening up.
I know I have read somewhere before that it is possible to only feel the pain of contractions in the back, and I'm wondering if that's what is going on with me??

shansfns_xyyy.... You could be in labor.. I did have my labor pains in my back(back labor) If you are not sure it does not hurt to go to the hospital and be checked..better to be safe then too late..Hope this helps some... Good Luck on you'r new one!!! Congrats!!

i think you are in labor. sounds like you're having back labor. during this you most likely won't feel anything in your stomach...but it's still contractions. if you're that much dilated and they are that close together......you should go to the hospital. GOOD LUCK

Yes, it is possible that you could just have back labor. GOOD LUCK!!
