well i'm 4 days overdue with my 4th child and no matter how determined i was to not be induced this time, as i have been with all my others, my induction has been booked for wednesday 16/08 if he hasn't appeared by then, which i don't think he will have i don't seem to be able to go into labour naturally!!!! this did upset me and i told my hubby i didn't feel like a woman, at which point he seriously scolded me and reminded me of all the women who can't even get pregnant or have never had a vb, so am gonna except what is possibly to happen at least i know by this time
next week i will have my little baby in my arms, however it is my birthday this sunday and it would be great if he was here for that!! anyone else being induced next week?

I'm being induced Tuesday the 15th It's my first, so i'm scared especially because everyone keeps saying it's going to hurt a lot more. Were your contractions unbearably painful with the other three? I hope I go naturally before that.

well i have nothing to compare it to, so i can't say whether the contractions are stronger or not, however i got through them all and babies were just fine, the only reason i didn't want it again is because you are in the hospital throughout the whole thing and they stick them monitors on, i hate listening to them because if i hear any slight change i start to worry, so i just ask them to turn it down, all i can suggest is you listen to exactly what the midwives say, as i was very scared with my first and this was the hardest one, the breathing techniques really really help and i even managed to giggle a bit through my last one and found it a wonderful experience, so even if you haven't been to any breathing cla__ses just do as you are told and try to enjoy the experience, i was given a leaflet on being induced the other day and it says there is no eveidence to suggest the pain is any worse, i think maybe because you know it's coming you may be more tense which won't help, so breathe!!!!!!!!!!!! and good luck to you

I am being induced on the 16th as well. This is our first and our due date is today, but it's just not going to happen. I wish us all great luck in our inductions and I hope that we do not need them!

Thanks, that helps. I was worried about it being worse but it's probably just like you said-- you expect it and so it is.. I just can't wait for it all to be over with.

I am pregnant with my second, and I was induced last time. I am hoping that I will go naturally this time. I just want the experience of calling my hubby at work and rushing to the hospital. I'm so scared that my body just can't do it! What did women do before inductions? Were they just pregnant forever?

i was also wondering this, i think we would have just been left till baby did come, which could have taken weeks, however we must remember there were a lot more deaths of mothers and babies in those days, so thank god for medical intervention, i think i would have been very unfortunate many moons ago!!
