I am just over 37 weeks - took 3 tbls, and hoping it will kick start labour. It is 9pm on friday night - going to go to bed around 1100pm..have some nookie with hubby to hopefully give me a kick start. I will let everyone know how it turns out. Another tid-bit - I had s_x twice in one night for my first 2 girls - at 38 weeks, and sent me into labour and delivered both safe - this one is a boy - so we will see...wish me luck ladies.

well - I had the castor oil last night, had pretty good contractions, but I knew they were false since they were only 45 - 55seconds long - but they were good ones! I am sure they helped my cervix get kick started - if anything. Anyway, I had contractions here and there all night, had only one bm (needed it anyway - the prenatal vits make me constipated) - and here I am typing today, debating to try again. I thi nk I will try one more time, and if it doesn't turn into the real thing, then my boy isn't ready to meet me yet......I'll keep y'all posted, ok.

ok - it is almost 4pm on saturday and I have just taken 3 tbls of castor oil...will keep y'all posted.

Iam 38 weeks and have been 3 cm for over a week now. My doctor was so sure that the baby would come this week, but its now sunday and no baby still. I took 3 tbls of castor oil at 7pm last night (saturday) and nothing, no crampying, no bathroom trips nothing. Then at about 1:30 am I woke up with the worst cramps of my life, made two trips to the bathroom. I was up all night in pain, then the cramps stoped at about 7:00 am this morning and nothing more. Thinking about trying it agin!

I tried it again last week and I was puking and pooping at the same time for 3 hours. I now have a hemmoroid the size of a gumball.

will castro oil make me go into labor at 38 weeks

It depends on whether or not your baby's ready adriana. SOmetimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's all by chance.

It may or may not adriana. Depends if your baby is ready to be born or not.

does walking increase my chances of puting me in labor at 37 weeks

It all depends if your ready for labor or not melissa. I've been walking for two weeks now and I'm 39 weeks and 3 days. Walking can dilate the cervix and get it ready for labor.

I tryed the castor oil friday night for a second time and just little contractions , my sister is a nurse and she along my local pharmacist suggested to try a again so saturday afternoon i drank 2oz again contractions steady for 5 mons but eventually subsided .I went to doctor today told her i think i lost my mucos plug ,she said i was still long and closed so all the contractions did nothing , and to top it off my scheduled c section which was supposed to be on the 29th of this month now got pushed back till wednesday the 31st wich sucks because now that screws everything up i have my mom comming in who cant change her airline tixs and i wont be home in time to help my son with his first day of school . my doctor did keep saying she didnt think i would make it till next wednesday anyway , i cant figure out why she would say that if iam still closed . seriously contemplating more castor oil (just kidding)lol

I know how you feel!!! I tried so much castor oil and ended up with nothing. i'm walking so much now and that's not even putting me into labor. I'm thinking of trying the black cohosh thing. I've heard it works so I might as well give it a try. if it doesn't work I'm just gonna hold out. Obviously I'm just not ready to have this baby!!!

well i wish you lots of luck Brittney,this is my 3rd and i just want it over .my husband said if i dont give birth soon hes gonna do the c-section him self .'YOU THINK IAM DRIVING HIM NUTS YET..."LOL maybe s_x will help ,since i cant go walking due to pelvis seperation.l will keep you updated.
