Did Anyone Not Take Birthing Classes

I was wondering if anyone didn't take any of the classes and regretted it, or was everything fine? I am still deciding whether or not we should do it

I "self-educated" with my first pregnany (lots of books and videos and info from the library). I did just fine. I think my husband would have been more comfortable if he had gone to a cla__s, though.

Thanks for responding. At first I decided not to. but I was considering maybe taking one recently, but now i'm having trouble finding one that fits my hubby & i's schedule. Its very frustrating!

i skipped cla__ses with my first but took them with my second. the only differance for me was knowing more about the monitors and equipment used during labor and delivery. the first time was scary because there was all these machines and monitors and i had no idea what they were for. you can also find out more about pain management at a cla__s. if you don't think a cla__s is for you then you can get alot of information by calling and getting a tour of the maternity ward. this time around all i'm doing is taking a tour and a b___stfeeding cla__s.

I took the cla__s with the first and have taken the refresher cla__s with the second. I got a lot out of it and I think it was a great way for my husband (who never read any of the books) and me to prepare for the birth together. Plus, there were snacks and free stuff : )

Read as much as you can. I went to cla__ses, mainly for my partner's sake because he's not much of a reader. It was good to get a tour of the birthing suite and ward. We were told about pain relief options, things to take and are supplied to help in labour ie. beanbag, gym ball, ma__sage oil. Told us a bit about b___stfeeding and dental care for bub. They didn't go through the breathing because they say "We all know how to pant" and we forget everything that we're told when we're in there. I am glad we went along but am sure I'll manage just the same if I hadn't.
