Ok, I was wondering how things went for other second time labors. For my first, I had my dd at 37w1d. I went to the dr the wed, was 50% effaced and 1cm dialated. My water broke that Sunday night and I had dd 5 hours later. I am at 36w and 2cm dialated and 50% effaced. Does this mean I am more likely to have this baby that early again or has everyone been different as far as how early they are with the second baby? I have heard that usually the second labor is shorter, but you are not as early. Any input?

I am wondering the same. Had 1st at 37w 3d and doc says the chances of going early for this one are very high.

I had my daughter at 35 1/2 weeks. I was told I have a higher chance of going early with this one as well.

I had my first at 34weeks, my second came at term and my third was induced at 37weeks. This baby looks like it might be coming early as the doctor suspected pre-term labour with the contractions I have been having this past week. It will be interesting to see if that is the case.

My 1st was 2 weeks early and the labor was about 12 hours or so. I was pushing FOREVER! But then again i didn't have the epidural for her delivery. My 2nd was about 4 weeks early and the labor lasted about the same, but I only pushed for about 10 minutes (tops).. that time i had the epidural and intend on having it again this time!

well- just an update. I had my baby Sunday morning. I was 36w1d and I delivered the baby in the elevator! Yes- the elevator! Long story but they sent me home from the hosp. twice and then I barely made it there on time when I did deliver.
