I did not want an epidural and the first time they offered I said OK. It just depends on your tolerance for pain and how bad your contractions are. I also had no pain from the time I got it until it was time to push. Not sure how much worse it would have been pushing if I did not have it. It still hurt pretty bad to push. The only thing I hated about getting the epidural is you need to stay still and it's so hard to do while you are getting a contraction. I will get another one if I have another child.

i recently gave birth to my second child and both times had epidural for me personally it was a great pain relief and to be honest the actual needle that they give you i did not really feel because my contractions were very strong although each person are different.I also had v____al deliverys and both times needed ventouse i do not no if this has anything to do with not being able to feel when to push or just sheer tiredness.Having a baby is hard work but at the end of it all your just so happy to have your bundle of joy. Try not to worry.
