I am 38 weeks pregnant. I have had several signs that i shoud be going into labour at any time now for the past couple days. I was about 3 cm dilated at my doctors apt i had on wednesday, but it is possible that i am more dilated now. I have had peroid-like cramping. I've had braxton hix contractions. I have had spotting caused from my cervix thinning and becoming dilated. I believe that i became 3 cm dilated over night, the night b4 my apt, and my doctor agrees that i'm probably right. That night before i went to sleep i had heavy menstral like cramps, and when i woke up i had some spotting. So if my docotor agrees that i probably did dilate all 3 cm that night, why have i stopped now and not went into labor? I have other typical signs that labor is on its way, such as back pain, and my "plug" has been released. Usually they say that even tho u have these signs that it can still be weeks even before you go into labour, but since i'm experiencing so many at once does that mean that i'm more likely to go into labour at any time or...?

I'm almost 40 weeks and have had heaps of 'signs' for at least the past 2 weeks - dilating, soft cervix, engaged baby, braxton hicks contractions increasing, released the mucus plug, period cramping, back pain etc etc but still nothing either!! I'm also so frustrated and now believe that signs aren't even signs at all - they're just a big tease! Hopefully it happens soon for both of us :-)
