How To Tell Its A Contraction

I am having pains that radiate around my abdomin but I dont know if its a contratction b/c I cant tell if my stomach is tightening or not. The baby takes up alot of space and my tummy always feels hard. WHAT DO I DO?

I am actually going through the same excat thing right now as i speak, and my insight on that is that is waht i was told it feels like my aunt told me that is all part of it

well i had been having contractions that start and stop for the past week and yesterday i woke up with contractions again but then as the day went on i was having really bad back pain and i just hadnt felt right all day just something felt different and my husband kept asking me what felt different and i just couldnt explain it and i was laying on the couch crying with a heating pad on my back and my husband couldnt take it anymore so he drove me to the hospital and guess what i was in labor after 3-4 hours the died off and i couldnt dialate any more then 3 cm so they sent me home but i woke up today with more contractions light ones nothing really big but thats how they started out yesterday so today might be the day by the way im 36w3d good luck to all
