i was to my 39 week check up yesterday and the doctor told me that where my first child was bigger(9lbs 2 ozs) that most likely my second child will be too and also that where i was induced with my first at 42 weeks that more than likely i will have to be induced again.. just said that history likes to repeat itself. he hasnt checked me in the last 3 weeks or anything... just wondering for the most part if this is true.. i know of two woman that were induced with their first children and not with their second?

My child isn't born yet.....but I can tell you this. My mother had six children, the first four weighing between 10 and 12 lbs, and the last two (being twins) weighing 9 1/2 lbs each. I am the twin, we broke a record at the time being the heaviest twins ever born in the state of California. That was in 1977, so maybe it has changed by now. Anyways, to answer your question, each of my my mothers pregnancies, each child weighed more than the last and she was induced on all of us. So good luck, and I hope that all goes well:)!

wow thanks so much sian.. i was kind of doubting what the doctor told me because i also know other woman that were induced with the first child and went into labour naturally with their second children. i went to a different OB yesterday and she did an internal and she told me that I am thinned out and my cervix is down and that she would not be surprised if i go into labour within the next few days. and i dont i have a ultrasound for next tuesday and they will talk about inducing me than, they wanna do fetal heights at the ultrasound to determine whether this baby is bigger than my first.
