I had back labor and I think I would prefer this over the other. I felt I could handle it more. With my first and only child I went into labor at 3am but it was bearable, got to the hospital at 6am, was checked for dilation at 8am and I was 4-5cm. This was when the pain was starting to get unbearable and I needed gas and air. From 8am-12noon I dilated from 4.5-10cm and pushed for almost an hour and had my ds. I would do it over again in a heart beat and in fact we are ttc this month. Good luck!

kylienz- good luck and congratulations in advance. Don't worry too much about labor. It's weird because when it's all over it doesn't seem like it was all that bad. My first was 11 1/2 hours and it didn't seem like it to me at all. I also had a great doctor and nurses who took control and helped me along the way, but the anesthesiologist was my best friend ever. As far as how long your labor will be, you can't put too much stock in what you read online. A long labor for one could be considered relatively short for another.
