Lots Of Contractions But They Aren T Regular Yet

I am almost 36 wks w/second baby. I have had consistent contractions last night off/on and today. Does every woman have to have them exactly 5 minutes apart or can that vary? I am home today w/my toddler as my husband is out of town. I'm getting nervous as the contractions are continuing to come/go eventhough they aren't "regular" yet. Any advice would be great. I'm lying on my left side yet they are still coming here and there......getting nervous!

i'm having (somewhat) the same problem. i have regular contractions that are 5 min apart, but they'll last maybe 45 min and then completely stop. sometimes walking will keep them coming, but other times walking makes them go away. its so frustrating!!
