my dr left part of the placenta inside of me after pulling the cord off and petting not massaging my stomach like he was suppossed and instructed to. i finished delivering it a week after my son was born at home when i just fell out when i go up to get him, should i sue for malpractice?

well it didnt cause you any greif, so even if you tried to sue, i dont think it would get to far.

Are you sure it was part of the placenta and not just a blood clot?

Yes, like Chelle said are you sure it was the placenta? Because I remember after giving birth to my two boys I had huge blood clots. I got up to go to the BR and it just kind of fell out on its own. So be sure that you know what it was before you make a big deal out of it. Good Luck with your baby

i dont think you should sue if it didnt actually cause you any grief and didnt make you sick or anything. I think far too many people sue thee days however if it definatley was placenta you may want to write a letter explaining what happened and voicing your concerns.

I had this happen to me after my 2nd was born. At 4 days postpartum I went to the bathroom and there was something hanging down, I pulled and it was still attached. I had to see the Dr. to have the rest removed, it hurt so bad. They said I was lucky because most women this happens to begin to hemmorage and have to have a D & C removal.
