i'm 4cm and 90% effaced....will the spermies help me dialate more or efface more?

I don't think you need much help, sounds like you are going to have one of those "silent" labors until your water breaks and then it will go only a few hours!!! My sister did that, not even an aspirin needed. Best wishes!

The "spermies" are not what help your labor along...It is the contractions that your uterus under goes when you have s_x. Remember no s_x after your water breaks!

Actually s_x can help induce labor and it has nothing to do with making your uterus contract. S_x can help by releasing a hormone called oxytocin, which causes the uterus to contract. One of the substances used by some doctors is either a sybthetic prostaglandins or one from an animal (i've heard pigs but im not sure thats true.
