I was wondering what exactly a very soft cervix means. My midwife checked me an told me my cervix was very soft and that wasn't much holding baby up. What did she mean???

My doctor told me that yesterday. he told me it was a good thing that some women have a harder cervix and this can make it take longer to dialate. when your cervix is softer it has more elastisity.. they say the more children you have the softer it gets. so your labour and delivery could be faster.
