If yo go into pre-mature labor and the baby is not developed enough to be born. Also if you are still capable of carrying the baby to term (water hasnt broken and your healthy enough). Doctors can (and should ) admit you to the hospital and will start yo on Magnesieum-Sulfate. It will stop your labor, but its not just an injection it is a continuous IV drip. Depending on how long it takes to stop labor, if it stays stopped and the health and well being of you and the baby will determine the length of your hospital stay.
