can your water break without having contractions can they come alot later.......???

Yes, mine did break & labor never started you need to contact your Dr or go to hospital they usually will induce you labor they don't want what they call a dry birth which isn't healthy to baby.

Mine did the same. Water broke at 3 a.m. and never got contractions. They want you to go in and if your contractions don't start -they'll induce. Beware of Pitocin contractions- ask for the pain meds, those contractions are POWERFUL! Good luck.
