some doctors are diffrerent, some will induce a few days over your due date or they might wait until you are 41 weeks. I would ask your doc on his/hers feelings on the matter. hope this helped!!!

tiffany's right some Dr's won't induce until 42 weeks. I asked my Dr. this ? very early on just so I could prepare myself for the absolute latest I could have my baby, she said she would induce at 41 weeks.

Without problems, the doctors I see will wait up until 42 weeks.

My doc is different. He doesn't like his patients to go over their dates. I was induced at almost 39 weeks.

Every doctor is different, just discuss it with them and see what they say.. some doctors will induce a week before your due date, and others won't induce until you are 1 or 2 weeks over due....I was induced at 39 weeks because I wanted to be... I was already 3cm and 100% and my doctor was guessing the baby weighed around 7lbs at the time so she said she would do it......My son was born at 7lbs 1oz at 39 weeks and was healthy....I asked to be induced because I was so uncomfortable, I didn't have any complications, just was ready to be done!!

In the UK, if everything is fine they will induce when you are 10 days past your due date. In general they say that it is not good for the baby to go more than 2 weeks past the due date.

My doctor said he will induce me at 39 weeks (next tuesday) if I have not delivered by then. I am 2cm dilated and over 1 week ago he said he thought the baby was 8.5 lbs already!
