Im 39 weeks pregnant and i lost my mucus plug today. My doctor told me to time my contractions and when they were strong AND 3 - 5 minutes apart give him a call... the contractions are irregular at about 8 - 10 minutes apart, sometimes 12 minutes. But when they do come, they get stronger. So i called my docor back and he said when they're 3 - 5 minutes apart to call and then head to the hospital. Im getting so uncomfortable and was just curious as to how long after i lose my mucus plug will i go into labor?

I lost my mucus plug at 36 weeks and didn't go into labor until I was induced at 38 weeks. So you can't tell how long it will be by the plug. I'd say just listen to your doc unless the contraction get REALLY painful and are still irregular.
