Why My Doctor Wont Induce Me

okay i call my doctor today i'm 37.5 weeks with aby number 5 dealing with preterm labor since 30 weeks i'm happy i made it this far but i'm totally miserable i have been 4 cm dilated and 80% effaced since 34 weeks and i have contractions everyday i'm depressed i cant sleep so i call my doctor today and i ask her if i can be induce anytime this week and she just say no cause the hospital is full of induction this weeks and that she will not induce until i'm 40 weeks but that we can talk about it on wednesday on my next apointment i dont care to be induce at 40 weeks i want to be induce now after 40 weeks i will not care to wait i got other kids to take care of and she is not very undestanding i cant cope with this anymore and cant funtion no more i want this baby out i know she is ready she is just stuborn, my first was 41 weeks my second 32 my thir 37 and my fourth 37 and i have all the sign of my baby coming for weeks but my labor was stop at 30 weeks and at 34 week!!!

Wow. If i were 4 cm, 80% effaced (although I was much further along in the dialation than you) & my doctor wouldn't induce my labor, I'd probably be looking for another doctor! I remember when I was about 38/39 weeks pregnant. My doctor was going to induce my labor, but I opted to wait. What a mistake! Another doctor was on call when I decided that I would have my labor induced, but she wouldn't do it. Three days later, I went into labor, and I arrived at the hospital too late for an epidural. Now had labor been induced, I would not have been crying & screaming for my mommy; not a pretty sight, at the age of 40.

That really sucks, why isn't she more understanding? Maybe if you tell her exactly what is going on? Maybe cry? I don't know. My OB has agreed to induce me at 39 weeks if I make it that far. I am sorry you are having such a hard time. :o{
