I was induced with my daughter when i was 36 1/2 weeks. My water broke and they needed to induce me so that there wasnt a chance of either of us getting a infection. When i went in the hospital i was 3 cm dilated and they gave me Pitocin when i wasnt dialating soon enough. I recieved a epidural some time hours later. I cant say being induced was enjoyable, my daughter was fine, but my contractions came very hard and fast and i was to early on to get a epidural yet. They gave me some kind of funny juice that made me feel like i had one drink to many, it didnt really take the pain away, but it made me laugh through it.

I was also induced at 39 weeks. The doctor didn't want the baby to get to big for me to push out because I have a smaller frame. I was in labor for 9.5 hours and it was great. I heard all the horror stories of inducing making everything worse. It didn't My contractions were nothing and I got to 8 cm. then the epidural b/c I knew he was a big baby. I pushed 45 minutes. He was over 9 lbs. Labor and delivery was a breeze. Don't fret over horror stories.

My water broke first in both my previous pregnancys and they then put me on pitocin and I have not one complaint my second birth I went drug free and it was three hours from start to finish an absolutely aamzing birth and my first i just had Demerol. I would rather be induced personally then there is no waiting game and I have had great births each time. I have no worries about this one having to get induced I would actuallly prefer it then going naturally. The pitocin did not make my contrations very hard either I laughed basically the whole way through the nurses were in disbelief. Im actually going to see if it is possible to plan an induction with my doctor since we have to drive an hour away.
