6 Weeks Nothing On Ultrasound

Because of some lite spotting, I went for va___al ultrasound and dr. didn't find a sac or anything (only "thickening of the lining"). At 4.5 weeks my HCG was 180 and 3 days later, 380 (which I thought was low, even if it doubled). Anyway, dc. wants me to go to hospital next week for a "higher quality" ultrasound. I'm still sort of not hopeful. I lost the last little one at 6 weeks, same thing, nothing on ultrasound. I have no children, and am 41...may have to throw in the towel.

I to went to the dr because of light spotting/discharge that has been happening for 3 days. However because it was on a Sunday and the dr was closed I went to Urgent care. They did not do an ultrasound, but he did you a visual pelvic examine and said that what I may have been discharging was the old implantation bleeding and that everything looked good because my cervix was completely closed. Is this a good sign or should I still make an earlier apt with the dr.

Anytime there's spotting, it should be checked out w/your dr. The word is, however, that most discharge in early preg. is normal. It's important to have your HCG levels checked to make sure they are doubling every few days. Your dr. may or may not do an ultrasound if your numbers are okay. There's not a whole lot you can do but just wait until you get the results of your labs. I would just relax an a__sume things are fine until then.
