How soon after having a d/c can you get pregnant? Had one 4wks ago, a week ago I went in to have my follow up but they did not check my blood level, am not sure if they were suppos e to, after having one(D/C) or they only do that after having a m/c. Havent had my period as yet also.

This is my first pregnancy and we just found out that I have an empty sac too. I'm about 7 weeks and did a u/s today and there was just a sac. We saw something very small in the sac, but the dr said it was nothing. My husband and are so sad, and don't know what to think of all this.

I just turned 40 and also just found out that I am pregnant. To my surprise I am 9 weeks. Got a v____al sonagram today and the sac is empty! I never even heard of this before. How could I be pregnant and there is nothing in the sac? I am scheduled for another ultrasound next Monday. Please pray that we will have a healthy and normal baby.

daniella, I'm 5weeks tomorrow and my last HCG was fri and it was only 519...the first one was 12days post concept and it was 181. The levels are increasing but not doubling and now my last lab shows a dip in the progesterone from 13.1 to 8.5...I feel a little crampy today and had just a tinge of dark brown d/c this morning..I have an appt tomorrow am but the MD doesnt sound too hopeful, he is leaning towards a "chemical pg" or blighted ovum I think. He said my level would need to be 1500 to see something on the us.As for the wt gain, this is my 4th pr and each time I gained 10-14 lb within the 1st 6wk...crazy I know, but after that it slows down.Thanks for the info and pray for me and my visit tomorrow!

Christina- I am so sorry to hear!!! The HCG actually doesn't sound that bad... but, if your starting to bleed, :( I am so sorry!!! You pretty much no in your heart if its not going right, especially since you've had other pregnancies to compare against. I think that I am getting pretty big, pretty fast with this pregnancy, but I'm not gaining weight yet. My stomach is starting to show (to me) at only 6 weeks, but no weight gain yet. Also, my HCG was over 40,000 last friday at 5 weeks 6 days. JENNIFER- please give it one more week... At only 7 weeks, its usually hard to see anything, but in a week you can compare.

Thanks for your encouragement Daniella. :) My husband and I have hope, but still are scared. I did a blood test to check my HCG levels. The rest is in God's hands.

Jennifer- are you HCG still doubling? or have you not got the results back yet?

Had an another ultrasound and it was an empty sac. I pray for all of you going through this that it turns out the other way. If not try to have faith that this happened for a reason.

Hi! I'm posting again afetr having an ultrasound yestarday. At 6 weeks our sac seemed empty according to a first sonogram. No yolk sac!! I was terrified. But we on our ultrasound yestarday our baby and his heart beat of 140 was inmediately seen!!!! We did IVF so we were absolutely positive on dates, but even on IVF pregnancies you can't be 100% sure on how fast the baby is developing. Another important factor is the accuracy of the machine and mostly the proficiency of who's performing the sonogram. I hope this will help all of you who are in a similar situation. I was seven weeks and when they did the u/s they did not see anything. I started cramping and spotting so I put on a pad. Later that day I seen what looked like a fetus. By the time I took it the doctor he said it was tissue. They took a another internal u/s and seen a sac but no h/b no baby. The doctor still gave me hope but then an hour later cramping started again and this time the sac pa__sed. I would get a second opinion to be sure.

my answer is to gail. hi gail and everyone else out there. i have experienced going for my scan at 8 wks to find the sac is empty. then waiting one week for changes. hoping and praying but in the end having to have a d&c. very traumatic but happy ending. after my d&c, exactly 4 weeks, i discovered i was pregnant again, despite doctors advising me to wait 2 months. i am now in my sixth healthy month of a blooming pregnancy and thank god for everything. so cheer up girls. have faith and hope and lots of looooove.

Monday i had my ultrasound I'm 7 weeks pragnant. the ultrasound measuring me 6 weeks. My hcg was 31000 monday by thursday HCG is only 35000 their not doubling. I was scheduled for another ultrasound this friday just four days after the first one they also found a empty sac, the tech told me although she may not find anything again on friday she said she'll schedule me again, I asked my doctor if it's ok to cancelll my appt. to later date to make sure the baby growing and for them to see something afrte a couple of weeks. He agreed with me, he said it's a good thing I have all the signs of being pragnant just to keep my hope and be patients. Ladies prayers do works and I calimed this baby already. MY od ids bigger than the machine and the doctors out there! I had three miscarriages and 1 live birth. Have faith in God everything is possible! He said asked and you shall recieve. I've asked for this baby i know I will recieved. God bless everyone!

I got my HCG back and they are increasing! That's good news, but they still can't see a baby yet. I do have a fedal pole, but heartbeat. Maybe it's just too early. I go back in two weeks for another u/s. I'm putting onto Jesus, because I can't handle the pressure of not yet.
