I went to the doctor two weeks ago for an u/s. It showed that I was 6wks with two heartbeats. One heartbeat 100bpm and the other 77bpm. I went back to the doctor yesterday for another u/s. I expected one heartbeat for sure and maybe the other one. I should have been 7wks 6days, but I only measured 6wks 6days with no heartbeats. I go back to the doctor tomorrow for another u/s and if it is the same I will go directly for a D&C. My husband and I have been trying for a while and didn't think we could get pregnant. I'm just devastated. Please pray that there will be at least one heartbeat tomorrow.

Cara, I'll be thinking of you! Hopefully, the heartbeats are able to be detected the next time you go. Cristina, thanks again for the info. I know my dr. was going off my first pregnancy progesterone level and you are right, I should just make them give me a progesterone test asap to rule that out or to get the meds if needed. I have a list of questions ready for my dr!!

We are going to try again as soon as the dr says its ok.

hello littlemadonna. I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Here is a website that helped me alot: www.pregnancyloss.info/recovery.htm
It tells of the recovery of different types of losses, from d&c to natural loss. I hope it helps answer your questions. Don't forget that you are still very hormonal now and that takes time to get back to normal, not to mention the loss itself. Be gentle with yourself and get lots of rest.

Nicola - I think all of us on here have unfortunately not had the luck in finding a heartbeat when we were in your situation. I do however think you are doing the right thing by waiting a week and returning to see if there is one next week. I did the same thing and handled the bad news better knowing that I had peace of mind. In rare cases however, I believe that there are circ_mstances where people have seen a heartbeat later on. I don't want to give you false hope but you may have a better chance if you have the tilted uterus. Are you doing the HcG testing too? If your numbers do not double every 24-48 hours, then that is an indication of a non-viable pregnancy as well. Please let us know the outcome of your appointment next week. We are here for you....

Littlemadonna - Firstly, I truly am sorry that you are having to go through this miscarriage. It is such an emotional and traumatic experience to be in... All of us have gone through something similar and goodness knows we can all feel your pain. The bleeding from a natural miscarriage can take many days depending on how far along you were. Where you still measuring at 6 1/2 weeks? I have heard of bleeding lasting a few days to several weeks... all depending on your circ_mstance and how far along you were. Bleeding since Monday sounds very normal. If it was early enough, sometimes the m/c acts like a regular period (I had this my first miscarriage at 5 weeks). Take it as easy as you can and try to pamper yourself.... It takes a tremendous toll on your body so you should play it low key for a while. Greiving after the loss of a pregnancy is very important. I personally feel that it helped me get over it faster and put me back into the mode of wanting to try again sooner. Hope this helps. Please keep us posted on your situation.

Hey ladies-I just wanted to let you all know that you should not give up all hope if theyt do not find a heartbeat rightaway!I had a miscarriage in April of last year and after two cycles was pregnant again.needless to say I was very scared of having another m/c.I had some brownish/red spotting at 11wks-so I went to the hospital for a u/s(that was how 1st m/c started). They couldn't find a heartbeat just the pole and sac.I was devastated. They said to come back in a few more days for another u/s. I went to another hospital and they found his h/b!I am now 31 wks and everything is going well.good luck to all-I know the pain of a m/c,but don't give up hope-it will happen when the baby is ready to be born healthy!

Well, you guys were right. The dr. ordered that thromobolytic panel and chromosome testing on me and dh. I'm so glad he didn't sugar coat this 2nd m/c like he did the first. So hopefully we'll get some answers with all these tests! Anything new with everyone?

It has been a very long and painful experience for me. It was like for a week straight at 5pm or so it went into overdrive and I felt like I could die it hurt so bad and I couldnt get off the toilet. Finally my Dr scheduled a d&c and I just got back from that procedure today. I am very sore and tired. I just thougt I would keep everyone posted on whats going on with me.

littlemadonna - I am so sorry to hear of your loss and the pain that you were in. I found the d&c helped because it was not long and drawn out - my heart could not have handled going through so much for so long. I want you to know that you are in my thoughts & prayers.

Cristina - How have you been?! I saw your post about getting the results of your panel of tests (has it been that long?! - probably seems like it to you, but to me it seems like time has flown by) I hope it is good news and will keep you in my prayers. Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. I think I am due to ovulate this week - sometime between Monday - Friday....we'll see. Dh & I have not been following the "every other day" plan as we had decided to do, but hey, we're still close! I like not being so obsessed, it makes it a little more magical I think. I am looking forward to hearing about when your day is coming???
