9w S No Heartbeat How Long Should I Wait

I am 9w5d and went for a u/s today. The baby measure 6w5d with no heartbeat. I am positive about my dates. The baby has grown since my last u/s two weeks ago. No bloodwork has ever been done. They told me to come back in 10 days for a final sonogram. I am devasted at the lack of compassion that I received. They just told me matter of factly. Does this baby still have a chance? What is the longest someone has waited to see if they would get a heartbeat and finally did? I don't want to schedule a D&C too early if there is still hope. This is a terrible thing to go through.

I waited until 12-14 weeks for my D&C. My u/s never showed a heartbeat but my uterus and fetal sac continued to expand. My hcg's continued to rise but not double. I had every pregnancy symptom and therefore refused to go ahead with the D&C. Follow your heart and wait it out. 5 weeks after the D&C I was pregnant again. Due in just a few weeks with baby #3. It is very scary, but even after 3 previous miscarriages I still refused to loose hope until my risk of hemmorage was to great to let it go on any futher.
