I think it is your uterus adjusting, muscles and tendons relaxing, etc. I had them pretty badly too - between weeks 4 and 6. Then I figured out that somewhere along the way it had turned to gas cramps. :-|

I HAVE HAD CRAMPS NOW FOR 2 DAYS ON AND OFF WITH NO BLEEDING. WITH MY OTHER 2 PREGNANCIES I HAD NONE. I AM TOLD THAT IT IS NORMAL THOUGH!
