I have just suffered a right tube removal due to an eptopic pregancy, still feel very sore and upset by the whole experience. My main question is that back in Feb/March I was told I was suffering a miscarriage at about 6 weeks, since looking up info on net, could it be possible that doctors were wrong and that the Eptopic I have just suffered was the same pregnancy, as doctors could not tell me how far this pregnancy was as it was in tube and was not growing at usuall amount. By the way the baby was alive and my husband and I witnessed on the scan monitor a heart beat and the baby had it's own blood supply going around it which doctor called a fire wall. Please help solve this bugging question for me so as I can try and put my mind at rest. If it was the same pregnancy it would have been about 16 -17 weeks old. It all seems so strange that I was rushed straight in for surgery on same day as scan and was not offered the drug that they can give you when pregnancy is early.
Thanks
Lisa

Fetal cardiac activity starts (I think) between 5-6 weeks (maternal, 4-5 weeks gestation) so you could've detected the heartbeat prior to the procedure. Ectopic pregnancies rarely make beyond 6 weeks with the risk of the tube rupturing (and the mother dying). You would've been rushed straight into surgery to avoid that, especially if they couldn't date the pregnancy (the methotrexate shot might have taken time - hours - that they didn't want to risk). I wouldn't worry, it would be highly unlikely you had a second trimester ectopic pregnancy. This is all just my opinion of course (lots googling, I'm 16w2d), I'm sure your Dr. can answer a lot of this for you when you s/he reviews the pathology of the embryo. I'm so sorry for your loss, hopefully you can get some answers that will help ease your mind. Take care.
