I am 37 weeks pregnant and I just received the results from my group b strep test and it was positive. Has anyone tested positive for this? Has anyone had this is a previous pregnancy? I'm really scared out of my mind. The doctor says everything will be fine and that they are going to give me and IV of penicillin while i'm in labor. Still from everything i'm reading on the computer has me scared silly.

I had a friend who tested positive for Strep b. Your doctor is right. Trust your doctor. They do give you this IV while you're in labor so it doesn't pa__s to the baby - and if your are scared, just talk to your doctor about this until you feel relief. While I think this site is great - many of us are not experts and are only giving our educated opinions based on our own experience. Trust your doctor - they are the one's who have the training, and sometimes, all the stuff we read on the computer can stress us out beyond what we need to be. You are almost ready to have your baby - this is a very exciting (and anxious) time. The last thing you want to be doing is stressing out about something that your dr has already indicated everything will be fine. My friend is fine. Her baby is fine. Maybe stop reading stuff on the computer and express your feelings to your doctor instead. Good luck on your delivery and may God bless you on your day. Please let me know how you are.

KK thanks so much hearing that makes me feel alot better. I know this is going to be the most exciting thing in my life and I need to quit stressing about negative things. Thanks again..I will let you know how everything goes.
