Pregnancy Continuing After D Amp C

Has anyone ever had a D&C and then found out that the sac and fetal tissue was not removed? I had the procedure done after Dr.'s advice and a decrease in hcg levels (accompanied by light bleeding) but a follow up hcg revealed that my levels had in fact increased. Now, 2 weeks post D&C (8 wks along), my levels are continuing to increase but not at the doubling levels we would like to see. I had an u/s 1 week ago and measured 5 wks 6 days, saw intact sac and fetal pole but no hb. I have another u/s scheduled tomorrow and know if there is no hb, they will recommend another d&C. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
