Pregnancy Following Ectopic Pregnancy

I had an ectopic pregnancy, resolved in late March at around 11 wks gestation. We discovered that I had a pregnancy in the correct location as well as a pregnancy in my left fallopian tube. Although excruciatingly painful, both pregnancies were terminated via the injection of methotrexate. I found out yesterday that I am pregnant again (Just 4wks), and I am very excited. At the same time, however, I am extremely nervous! I have no bleeding (I did have bleeding and painful cramping at this point last time), and I am being optomistic! Has anyone had a similar experience or does anyone know the chances of a second situation like the first?

I am a mother of six healthy children and have had a crazy year of miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy similar to what you described, I am 40 years old and seem to be very fertile...each pregnancy is a whole new world..they say to wait at least three months after an ectopic pregnancy..it seems as though you are right on target...try to relax and enjoy your life...we are not in control of our pregnancies...thank g-d we live in this century..in the past woman have died from ectopic pregnancies...hang in there....this is a brand new pregnancy and I bless you that you should have a wonderful outcome...

Joanne, I really appreciate your positive words. I am trying to do just that, "hang in there". It's difficult not to think about my past situation, but I know that positive energy is key. How blessed you are to have your children. Best wishes for continued growth in your family.

Angela, Keep your chin up. From what I understand, spotting is very common and is not necessarily an indication of a problem. Luckily, I haven't experienced any thus far. I think that as long as the spotting isn't partnered with cramping (exp in one side only) and/or heavy bleeding you should have no worries. I will keep you in my thoughts!
