Prog Supp No Longer Needed Several Help

While I was waiting for results of progesterone test, another dr. allowed me to go on 50mg supplements (due to cramping/spotting at 7dpo, previous m/c). 7dpo came back at 16, so now MY dr. says stop the supplements. Won't this send me into my period (the drop in progesterone)? We're ttc and I'm not giving up yet that there could be a bean in there! And if I do end up pg., won't I have to continue the supplements now that I started them because I don't want my body to see the drop and miscarry? (By the way, I always cramp at 5dpo, spot at 10dpo through period and on these supplements, my cramps are almost nonexistent and NO SPOTTING- even tho dr. said 16 level is okay). Isn't that weird?
Now IF I just continue the supplements, will I know if I'm pg.? I've heard the prog. can give false negative HPT results. Anyone know if this is true?

I think hpt's measure hcg levels not progesterone levels, so I'm not thinking that they'll give a false negative.
I just found out recently that I was pg again after a m/c in Feb. I had my progesterone tested the week I found out and it was at 16.5 at around 14dpo. My dr said anything above 15 was ok, but that they like it to be higher (and from what I've read they like it to be around 20). Went in yesterday for my 1st appt and all appears well, but she told me to stay on the progesterone supplements at least until the next appt which will put me at 12-13 weeks. From everything I've read and heard, the progesterone won't do you harm. I'd ask to stay on it at least during your 2week wait.
